I aspire to be a committed, caring, and competent ESL educator who acts as the wise person of Proverbs 15:2 and “makes learning a joy.” I find the phonology aspect of language learning fascinating. Having completed a Masters in TESL, I am currently gaining more teaching experience at Carson Newman University and hope to pursue a Doctorate in TESOL with an emphasis on using Computer Assisted Language Training (CAPT) for accent reduction.
To accomplish this goal:
I will be a reflective practitioner of education who seeks out opportunities to grow professionally.
I will foster productive relationships with colleagues and be a community advocate for English language learners.
I will seek to communicate effectively with students and when applicable with their parents/guardians/hosts.
I will continue to develop technological skills that support education and communication in the field of language learning.
